Skydive dictionary : Deployment Bag

A device that contains (holds) a parachute canopy until the suspension lines have deployed. Bag many or may not provide a place to stow suspension lines.
A pilot chute lifts a deployment bag away from a parachute container, causing the suspension lines to be extended before the canopy emerges from the deployment bag.
