Skydive dictionary : Cell

Cell. Square canopies are made up of pressurized cells, usually seven or nine.
Each cell consists of a load bearing rib at each side to which the suspension lines are attached.
A third, non load bearing rib runs down the middle of the cell. The cell is pressurized through the open mouth at the front and also through cross ports in the ribs. Adjacent cells share load bearing ribs.
